Farmers Gain Convenience, Accuracy, Time Savings with Digital Crop Insurance Reporting Options
ST. LOUIS (May 17, 2022) — U.S. farmers now have another option to simplify crop insurance reporting. Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) policyholders using Climate FieldView™ – Bayer’s flagship digital farming product – can access, analyze, manage, and now share their completed planting or harvest data with their agent.
The new crop insurance reporting capability comes at no extra cost. Farmers and their agents benefit from the digital option through reduced paperwork, improved accuracy, and time saved.
“Whether it comes from increased profitability, simplified tasks, saved time, or peace of mind, delivering value to farmers is our principal focus,” said Brandon Rinkenberger, Chief Customer Officer for Climate LLC and Digital Farming at Bayer. “If we have an opportunity to expand our capabilities, provide farmers with more options, and simplify their lives through digital tools, we’ll work to make it happen.”
Once initiated by the farmer, the secure connection allows RCIS policyholders to report acres and production data digitally from their FieldView account, helping to simplify processes during busy crop insurance reporting seasons.
“The addition of FieldView’s precision ag connection offers significant value to our policyholders for managing their farm production information and reducing their complexities,” said Nick Luett, RCIS Mapping Product Manager.
Farmers interested in this new capability should contact their RCIS crop insurance agent or visit climate.com for more information.
First launched in the United States in 2015, FieldView gives farmers a deeper understanding of their fields so they can make more informed operating decisions to optimize yields, maximize time and efficiency, and reduce risk. FieldView is a global digital farming solution and is currently available in more than 20 countries across more than 180 million subscribed acres.
RCIS has been a leading innovator in crop insurance since 1982 after the crop insurance business was privatized by the federal government. With a national network of approximately 3,600 agents, RCIS conducts business in all 50 U.S. states, providing risk management for more than 160 crops on more than 125 million acres.
In recent years, U.S. farmers using FieldView have enjoyed similar capabilities with other major crop insurance providers, starting with Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company of Iowa for the 2019 crop season, followed by NAU Country Insurance for the 2020 campaign.
